Windows 95 (IrDA Only), 98, Me - Instructions

  1. Download the self-extracting executable to a temporary folder.
  2. Double-click the resulting executable, PJ3-Win9xMe-Ver10.exe.
  3. When the program runs, select the directory where you want to place the driver installation files, and choose "Unzip". By default, this folder will be C:\PENTAX\PJ3\Win9xMe.
  4. In the folder selected in step 3, double-click the PJ3-Install-Win9xMe.exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. In the folder selected in step 3, there is a file README.CHM. View the README.CHM file for additional instructions about installing and using the driver.

Windows 2000, XP - Instructions

Configuration Utility - Instructions The configuration utility allows modifying the printer's power-on default behavior. Some settings may be of interest to all users. But, most settings are designed for use in a text-based, driverless environment, which will not apply for most users. See README.TXT file included in the package for more details.

  2. Double-click the resulting executable, PJ3-Config-Ver10.exe.
  3. When the program runs, select the directory where you want to place the driver installation files, and choose "Unzip". By default, this folder will be C:\PENTAX\PJ3\CONFIG.

Palm OS - Instructions Printing directly from the Palm OS requires printing support from a third party accessory printing utility. Pentax is pleased to provide you a 30-day trial version of PalmPrint by Stevens Creek Software. Trial Software:

  1. Download StevensCreek Palm Print Version 4.4 to a temporary folder.
  2. . Double-click the resulting executable, StevensCreek-ver44.exe
  3. . When the program runs, select the directory where you want to place the driver installation files, and choose "Unzip". By default, this folder will be C:\PENTAX\PALMOS\STEVENSCREEK.
  4. . In the folder selected in step 3 is the set of application installation files and a README.CHM file. View the README.CHM or README.TXT files for additional instructions about installing and using the software.

Linux - Instructions NOTE: Pentax provides 2 different Linux solutions. One supports the LPD/LPRing spooler. The other supports the CUPS spooler.

For installation and usage instructions, view the "README.TXT" files included in the download package.

MacOSX - Instructions NOTE: Requires Mac OSX version 10.2.8 (Jaguar) or 10.3.5 (Panther) or higher.

  1. Download the disk-image file "pocketjet-2.0.0.ppc.dmg" to your computer.
  2. Double-click on "pocketjet-2.0.0.ppc.dmg". This is a "disk image" formatted file and will place a new folder on your desktop called "Install pocketjet".
  3. . If you have OSX "Jaguar" and do not already have ESP GhostScript installed, install the GhostScript package in the "Install PocketJet" folder that was created in Step 2. To install this, double-click on it and follow the onscreen instructions. For OSX "Panther", this step is not necessary. 4. Install the PocketJet package in the "Install PocketJet" folder. To install this, double-click on it and follow the onscreen instructions.
